SC Johnson is a family company employing more than 12,000 people across nearly 70 countries. The company has operated in Australia since 1917 and produces a number of well known household brands including Duck toilet cleaner, Glade and Mr Muscle to name but a few.
Our brief was to create an office environment with a timeless, modern and earthy feel which emanates the richness of the company’s heritage, values and history. Most of all SC Johnson wanted their office to communicate that they are a global, modern, forward-looking company and a great place to work!
Based around sustainability, flexibility and staff collaboration, the design creates a vibrant workplace with opportunities for privacy as well as a high level of visibility and interaction. Splashes of strong colours are balanced by a sophisticated selection of textures and finishes. Indoor planting and timber ceiling structures subtly define areas creating a spacious and open environment.
Sustainable design features include: low energy LED lighting, indoor plants to improve air-quality, selection of materials with little or no VOC emissions, maximised use of natural light through the open-plan design, video conferencing facilities to reduce the need for employee travel and low-water bathroom fixtures.
